Basic crew responsibilities and how to think as a tank unit.
Core roles
The Gunner
Proactive scanning and engagement. Communicate target type, range, and direction.
Confirm hull/turret alignment before firing.
The Spotter
Continuous observation + coordination. Calls threats, marks positions, reads terrain.
Keeps the crew informed (infantry, AT, vehicle movement, flanks).
The Driver
Maneuver to superior positions. Maintain cover, angles, and retreat paths.
Make smooth stops for shots; avoid exposing weak sides/rear.
